Summer Girl

Eliza is one of the few Summer Girls named. When we first hear of her, Beira is taunting Keenan, saying Eliza may be his Summer Queen, but had lacked the courage to pick up the staff and so never found out. In this same conversation, Beira suggests Eliza is centuries old.

Niall also mentions Eliza, noting "Once they're Summer Girls, their inhibitions are gone. Remember Eliza when she was mortal? Not the least bit affectionate . . . now she's much more receptive." This comment upsets Keenan, as he doesn't want to believe Aislinn could become like Eliza, "could join the Summer Girls, could warm other faeries' beds."

Later on, Niall explains the Summer Girls to Aislinn, saying they never say "no" to Keenan but they can and they do say no to the guards and other members of the court. In fact, Eliza seems to have a fondness for Tavish (she is dancing with him in one scene when Keenan wishes to talk to him).

Even so, Eliza is also very clearly loyal to Keenan. Along with the other Summer Girls, she watches over Aislinn. When Ash comes to see Keenan in Rath and Ruins, he sends Eliza and another of the Summer Girls to escort Ash to him.

Like all the Summer Girls, Eliza has vine-like tattoos which flow over her skin as if they are alive.
